Balanceability is the UK's first accredited learn to cycle programme. It helps teach children from age 2 how to master all aspects of static and dynamic balance using ergonomic balance bikes.
Mini Tots is aimed at children aged approx 2 to 4 years old. It focuses on movement patterns, gross motor skills and dynamic balance using a balance bike. Children learn how to pick up, manoeuvre, mount and dismount their bikes and then learn the skills to ride a balance bike safely.
It is usually run over 5 sessions each lasting 45 minutes. A typical session would include a warm up, static and dynamic balance activities, using a balance bike and a cool down. Children build upon skills taught from the previous week, following a structured course. Most importantly, sessions are fun. Through having fun children will build their confidence and their ability to balance.
All balance bikes and bike helmets are provided by Bikertots. Children may wear their own suitably fitted bike helmet should they prefer. Bike helmets are compulsory. No child will be allowed to take part if they do not wear one.
